Ingredients
Wet Ingredients
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted (110 grams)
- ¾ cup white chocolate, for melting (120 grams)
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
- ½ cup granulated sugar (100 grams)
- ¼ teaspoon fine salt
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour (100 grams)
- 2 tablespoons matcha powder (12 grams)
Add-ins and Garnish
- ½ cup white chocolate chips, mixed into batter
- Dried strawberry pieces, for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat the oven and prepare pan: Set your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease an 8-inch square brownie pan with cooking oil or butter, then line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
- Melt butter and white chocolate: In a glass bowl, combine the melted butter with the white chocolate. Microwave in 30-60 second increments, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth.
- Add eggs and flavorings: Whisk the eggs, granulated sugar, fine salt, and vanilla extract into the melted butter and chocolate mixture until fully combined.
- Prepare dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour and matcha powder, then whisk until the mixture is evenly green and lump-free.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients: Gently fold the dry mixture into the wet ingredients using a spatula, just until combined. Be careful not to overmix to maintain a fudgy texture. Fold in the white chocolate chips last.
- Transfer batter to pan: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and level the surface with a spatula. Optionally, sprinkle additional white chocolate chips or dried strawberry pieces on top for decoration.
- Bake the brownies: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly soft and the edges have risen. The top should retain a green color without significant browning.
- Cool the brownies: Remove the pan from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes. Using the parchment paper, lift the brownies out of the pan and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Slice and serve: Once fully cooled, slice into squares and serve. Enjoy the unique fudgy texture and delicate matcha flavor.
Notes
- For best results, use high-quality matcha powder to ensure a vibrant color and authentic flavor.
- Do not overmix the batter after adding the flour and matcha to keep the brownies fudgy.
- Adjust baking time slightly depending on your oven; the center should be set but not dry.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely before slicing to maintain clean edges.
- These brownies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerated for up to a week.
