Description
A refreshing and visually stunning Strawberry Matcha Latte featuring a sweet strawberry syrup, light whipped strawberry cream, and smooth matcha for a delightful iced beverage perfect for any time of day.
Ingredients
Strawberry Syrup
- 5 strawberries, chopped
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons water
Strawberry Whipped Foam
- 3 tablespoons heavy cream
- Strawberry syrup (from above)
Matcha Latte
- 2 teaspoons matcha powder
- 2 tablespoons hot water
- 1 tablespoon honey
- Milk of choice (about 1 cup)
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Make the Strawberry Syrup: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine chopped strawberries, sugar, and water. Cook the mixture until the strawberries soften and release their juices, about 5 minutes. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve, collecting the syrup and discarding the solids. Allow the syrup to cool completely.
- Create the Strawberry Whipped Foam: Pour the heavy cream into a small bowl and add a few tablespoons of the cooled strawberry syrup. Whip the mixture using a hand mixer or whisk until it becomes light, fluffy, and soft, about 30 seconds. Aim for a pourable whipped cream texture to easily top the drink.
- Prepare the Matcha: Place matcha powder into a small bowl and add 2 tablespoons of hot water. Whisk briskly until the matcha is fully dissolved and smooth with no lumps. Stir in the honey until fully incorporated, adjusting sweetness to taste.
- Assemble the Iced Matcha Latte: Fill a glass with ice cubes to chill. Pour in your desired milk (dairy or plant-based) up to three-quarters full. Add the prepared matcha mixture and gently stir. Finally, spoon the strawberry whipped foam on top of the latte, creating a layered, vibrant look.
Notes
- Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the best flavor in the syrup.
- Adjust the sweetness of the syrup and honey according to your preference.
- The whipped cream should be soft and pourable, not stiff, to blend nicely with the latte.
- This drink can be served iced or enjoyed warm by skipping the ice and warming the milk.
- Matcha quality affects flavor; use ceremonial grade for the best taste.
