Description

A refreshing homemade Strawberry Cocktail featuring a sweet strawberry syrup combined with white rum and lemon-lime soda, perfect for a single serving and ready in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Strawberry Simple Syrup

  • ¾ cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Strawberries, chopped

Cocktail

  • 1.5 oz Strawberry simple syrup
  • 2 oz White rum
  • 1¼ cup Lemon lime soda
  • Ice cubes as needed
  • Strawberry slices for garnish

Instructions

  1. Make the strawberry syrup: In a small saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, water, and chopped strawberries.
  2. Heat mixture: Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a rolling boil, stirring constantly to dissolve the sugar and infuse the strawberry flavor.
  3. Remove from heat: Once boiling, immediately take the pan off the heat and allow the syrup to cool completely.
  4. Strain syrup: After cooling, pour the syrup through a fine strainer to remove the strawberry chunks, leaving a smooth strawberry simple syrup.
  5. Prepare cocktail: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes, then add 1.5 oz of the strawberry simple syrup, 2 oz of white rum, and 1¼ cups of lemon-lime soda.
  6. Mix cocktail: Shake the mixture lightly to combine ingredients and chill the cocktail without over-diluting.
  7. Serve: Strain the cocktail into a glass filled with fresh ice.
  8. Garnish: Add strawberry slices to the glass for a decorative and flavorful garnish.

Notes

  • You can prepare extra strawberry simple syrup and store it in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Use fresh ripe strawberries for the best flavor in the syrup.
  • Adjust the amount of lemon-lime soda to taste if you prefer a less fizzy or more diluted cocktail.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the rum and add extra lemon-lime soda or sparkling water.
  • Ensure to stir the syrup constantly as it heats to avoid burning the sugar or strawberries.
