Description

These Spinach and Feta Turkey Burgers are a delicious and healthy twist on traditional turkey burgers. Packed with fresh baby spinach and tangy feta cheese, these patties are juicy, flavorful, and perfect for a quick weeknight meal or weekend cookout. Grilled to perfection, they offer a satisfying and nutritious alternative to beef burgers.

Ingredients

Turkey Burger Mixture

  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 1 cup baby spinach, chopped
  • ¼ cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 3 tablespoons egg whites (or 1 whole egg)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried parsley)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking, ensuring the burgers cook evenly without sticking.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, chopped baby spinach, crumbled feta cheese, egg whites, chopped parsley, minced garlic, sea salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  3. Form Patties: Using your hands, shape the mixture into 4 to 5 equal-sized patties, making sure they are compact to hold together during grilling.
  4. Grill Patties: Place the patties on the preheated grill and cook for 6 to 8 minutes on each side. Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F to ensure they are safely cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
  5. Serve: Once cooked, serve the turkey burgers immediately. They can be enjoyed on buns, wrapped in lettuce leaves for a low-carb option, or over a fresh salad, topped with your favorite condiments and vegetables.

Notes

  • Make sure not to overmix the turkey mixture to keep burgers tender.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure burgers reach safe internal temperature of 165°F.
  • For a lower fat version, use egg whites instead of a whole egg.
  • Feel free to add additional toppings such as tomato slices, onions, or tzatziki sauce to complement the feta flavor.
  • These burgers can also be cooked on a stovetop grill pan if a grill is unavailable.
