- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
Seasoning Blend
- 3 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning blend
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
Other
- 2 cups water
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Slow Cooker: Lightly coat the inside of your slow cooker with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Brush Turkey Legs with Oil: Using a brush, evenly coat the turkey legs with the extra virgin olive oil and set them aside.
- Mix Seasonings: In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, salt, paprika, Italian seasoning, and black pepper. Stir until well mixed.
- Rub Seasoning Over Turkey: Generously rub the seasoning mixture over all sides of each turkey leg, ensuring they are well coated.
- Place Turkey in Slow Cooker: Arrange the seasoned turkey legs neatly in the prepared slow cooker.
- Add Water: Pour 2 cups of water into the bottom of the slow cooker, which helps keep the meat moist during cooking.
- Cook: Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 6-8 hours until the turkey legs are tender and cooked through.
- Remove and Serve: Carefully remove the turkey legs from the slow cooker and transfer them to a serving platter.
- Optional Browning: For crispy skin, place the turkey legs under a broiler for a few minutes until golden and slightly crisp.
- Garnish and Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately for a delicious meal.
Notes
- Cooking times may vary depending on slow cooker model; adjust accordingly.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure turkey legs reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Broiling is optional but enhances skin texture and flavor.
- Leftover turkey legs can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or frozen for longer storage.
