Description

This Quick & Easy Garlic Noodles recipe delivers a flavorful and satisfying meal in just 25 minutes. Featuring angel hair pasta tossed in a savory blend of oyster sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, and toasted sesame oil, sautéed with aromatic garlic and green onions in butter, this dish is perfect for a fast, comforting dinner for four.

Ingredients

Sauce

  • 2 Tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil

Main

  • 8 oz angel hair pasta
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 bunch green onions, sliced (reserve some for garnish)
  • 4 Tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, combine the oyster sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce, and toasted sesame oil. Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is well blended.
  2. Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the angel hair pasta and cook according to the package directions, typically 7-10 minutes, until al dente. Drain the pasta in a colander and set aside.
  3. Sauté garlic and green onions: While the pasta cooks, mince the garlic and slice the green onions, reserving a few slices for garnish. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Once melted and bubbly, add the garlic and most of the green onions to the skillet. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until soft and fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Toss pasta with sauce: Remove the skillet from heat. Add the drained pasta and the prepared sauce mixture to the skillet. Stir thoroughly to coat the pasta evenly. If the noodles seem stiff or sticky, add a small splash of hot water to loosen them up.
  5. Serve: Transfer the garlic noodles to serving plates and garnish with the reserved sliced green onions. Serve immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • You can substitute oyster sauce with hoisin sauce for a vegetarian option, but this recipe is not fully vegetarian as written.
  • Adjust the amount of garlic to your taste preference for a milder or stronger garlic flavor.
  • For added protein, consider tossing in cooked shrimp, chicken, or tofu after the garlic and green onions are sautéed.
  • Angel hair pasta cooks very quickly; keep an eye to avoid overcooking.
  • Use fresh green onions for the best flavor and garnish appearance.
