Description

Delicious Philly Cheesesteak Sliders made with tender shaved beef, melted provolone cheese, and sautéed sweet onions, all layered on soft King's Hawaiian rolls and baked to perfection. Perfect for parties, game days, or a tasty snack.

Ingredients

Sliders

  • 12 King's Hawaiian Roll Sliders
  • 1 small sweet onion, sliced thinly
  • 1 pound Trader Joe's Shaved Beef Steak (chopped into small pieces)
  • 1 pound Provolone Cheese (thick slices, about 8 slices)

Seasoned Butter

  • 4 tablespoons salted butter (divided)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F to get it ready for baking the sliders.
  2. Sauté Onions: Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a pan over medium-high heat. Once melted, add the thinly sliced onions and cook for about 5 minutes until they become soft and slightly translucent.
  3. Cook Beef: Add the chopped shaved beef steak and Worcestershire sauce to the onions. Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes until the meat is fully cooked. Then turn off the heat and set aside.
  4. Prepare Rolls: Using a sharp bread knife, carefully slice the King’s Hawaiian rolls horizontally in half. Place the bottom half of the rolls evenly in a 7x11 baking dish or sheet pan.
  5. Assemble Meat Layer: Spread the cooked beef and onion mixture evenly over the bottom halves of the rolls to cover all the bread.
  6. Add Cheese: Layer the provolone cheese slices evenly over the meat mixture. Then place the top halves of the rolls over the cheese layer.
  7. Make Seasoned Butter: Melt the remaining 3 tablespoons of butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Stir in the garlic powder and paprika, whisking well to combine. Use a pastry brush to generously brush the seasoned butter over the tops of the rolls.
  8. Cover and Bake: Cover the sliders tightly with aluminum foil and place them in the middle rack of the preheated oven. Bake for 15 minutes.
  9. Finish Baking: Remove the foil and continue baking for another 5 minutes or until the cheese is completely melted and the tops are slightly golden.
  10. Cool and Serve: Carefully take the sliders out of the oven and let them cool for a few minutes to allow the cheese to set slightly. Use a sharp knife to cut between the rolls into individual sliders. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • If you prefer, you can add sautéed bell peppers or mushrooms for extra flavor and texture.
  • Use a serrated bread knife to easily slice the rolls without crushing them.
  • The sliders can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated; bake just before serving.
  • For extra crispiness on top, broil the sliders for 1-2 minutes after baking, watching closely to avoid burning.
  • These sliders freeze well; reheat in the oven to maintain their texture.
