Description

A refreshing and nutritious Persimmon Smoothie featuring the sweet, delicate flavors of fuyu persimmon blended with creamy milk kefir and a hint of maple syrup. This easy-to-make smoothie is perfect for a quick breakfast or a healthy snack, with optional cayenne pepper adding a subtle spicy kick.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 fuyu persimmon, leaves and core removed
  • 1 cup plain milk kefir OR coconut milk kefir
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 10 almonds
  • 2 ice cubes, optional
  • Dash cayenne, optional (to serve)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Remove the leaves and core from the fuyu persimmon. Gather plain milk kefir or use coconut milk kefir for a dairy-free option, maple syrup, almonds, and optionally ice cubes and cayenne pepper.
  2. Blend Smoothie: Place the persimmon, kefir, maple syrup, almonds, and ice cubes (if using) into a blender. Blend all ingredients until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Adjust Sweetness and Consistency: Taste the smoothie and add more maple syrup if you prefer it sweeter. To adjust thickness, add more milk kefir or ice cubes as needed and blend again briefly.
  4. Serve: Pour the smoothie into serving glasses. Sprinkle a dash of cayenne pepper on top if desired, to add a subtle spice.
  5. Store: If not consumed immediately, store the smoothie in the refrigerator and drink within 2-3 days for best freshness and flavor.

Notes

  • Using coconut milk kefir makes this smoothie dairy-free.
  • Almonds add a slight crunch and boost the protein and healthy fat content.
  • Cayenne pepper is optional but adds a nice spicy contrast to the sweet persimmon.
  • For a colder smoothie, add ice cubes or freeze the persimmon pieces prior to blending.
  • Consume within 2-3 days to ensure freshness and nutritional quality.
