Description
A refreshing Mint Lemonade Slush that combines the zesty brightness of fresh lemon juice with the cool herbal notes of mint, sweetened perfectly and blended into a frosty, slushy drink—ideal for a hot day.
Ingredients
Syrup
- 6 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 6 tablespoons water
Slush Mix
- 1/2 cup water
- 40 fresh mint leaves (from about 4 mint stems)
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (from about 6 small lemons)
- 1 to 2 drops orange blossom water (optional)
- 18 to 20 ice cubes
Instructions
- Make Simple Syrup: Add the sugar and 6 tablespoons of water to a blender. Blend on high speed for 30 seconds to 1 minute until the sugar is completely dissolved, creating a smooth syrup base.
- Add Remaining Ingredients: To the blender with the syrup, add the remaining 1/2 cup water, fresh mint leaves, fresh lemon juice, and optional orange blossom water for a fragrant floral note.
- Add Ice and Blend: Add 18 to 20 ice cubes to the blender. Blend on high speed until the mixture becomes well blended and achieves a slushy, icy texture.
- Serve: Pour the mint lemonade slush into serving glasses immediately to maintain its refreshing chilled state. Serve right away for the best taste and texture.
Notes
- Use fresh lemon juice for the best bright flavor; bottled lemon juice will alter the taste.
- If you prefer a less sweet drink, reduce sugar to taste.
- The optional orange blossom water adds a subtle floral aroma but can be omitted.
- To intensify the mint flavor, gently bruise the mint leaves before adding them to release more oils.
- Serve immediately to enjoy the slush's optimal icy texture as it will melt over time.
