Description
These Jalapeno Popper Chicken Sliders are a flavorful twist on classic sliders, combining creamy jalapeno-spiked cream cheese, tender shredded chicken, and sharp cheddar, all nestled inside soft Hawaiian sweet rolls. Perfect for quick gatherings or game day snacks, these sliders bake to golden perfection with a buttery, seasoned crust.
Ingredients
Sliders
- 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls
- 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup pickled jalapeno peppers, diced
- 3 cups shredded chicken
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Butter Topping
- 2 tablespoons Challenge Butter Lawry's Seasoned Salt Snack Spread
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350˚F (175˚C) to prepare for baking the sliders evenly.
- Make Jalapeno Cream Cheese Mix: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with the diced pickled jalapenos. Stir well until the jalapenos are evenly distributed throughout the cream cheese.
- Prepare Slider Bases: Slice the Hawaiian sweet rolls horizontally and place all the bottom halves in a baking dish to form a base layer.
- Assemble Sliders: Spread the jalapeno cream cheese mixture evenly over the bottom halves of the rolls. Top with the shredded chicken, pressing slightly to embed it in the cream cheese layer. Sprinkle shredded sharp cheddar cheese over the chicken layer, then cover with the top halves of the rolls.
- Slice Sliders: Using a serrated knife, carefully cut between each sandwich to separate into individual sliders while keeping them together in the baking dish.
- Add Butter Topping: Melt the Challenge Butter Lawry's Seasoned Salt Snack Spread, then brush the melted butter generously over the top of the sliders and into the cuts between them to ensure even flavor and browning.
- Bake Sliders: Bake the assembled sliders in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown and slightly crispy.
- Serve: Remove from oven and serve immediately while warm and gooey.
Notes
- You can substitute shredded rotisserie chicken to save prep time.
- If you prefer less heat, reduce the amount of jalapenos or use mild pickled peppers.
- For a crispier top, broil the sliders for an additional 1-2 minutes after baking, watching closely to avoid burning.
- These sliders are best served fresh but can be reheated covered with foil to maintain moisture.
