Description

A flavorful twist on classic deviled eggs, these Hummus Deviled Eggs combine creamy hummus with warm spices like turmeric, paprika, and cayenne for a vibrant and easy appetizer perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Eggs

  • 4 hard-boiled eggs

Filling

  • ⅓ cup hummus
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp fine sea salt
  • ¼ tsp cayenne powder

Instructions

  1. Slice Eggs: Cut the hard-boiled eggs in half lengthwise to prepare for filling.
  2. Separate Yolks: Carefully remove the yolks from the egg whites and place the yolks in a mixing bowl. Arrange the egg whites on a plate and set aside.
  3. Mix Filling: Add the hummus, turmeric, paprika, sea salt, and cayenne powder to the bowl with the yolks. Mash everything together thoroughly with a fork until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  4. Fill Egg Whites: Using a piping bag or a spoon, fill each egg white half with the hummus-yolk mixture, distributing evenly.
  5. Chill and Serve: Cover the filled eggs and refrigerate them until ready to serve to enhance flavors and maintain freshness.

Notes

  • For perfectly hard-boiled eggs: Place eggs in a pot, cover with cold water, bring to a boil, then cover and remove from heat. Let sit for 10-12 minutes before transferring to an ice bath.
  • The spices can be adjusted to your taste for more or less heat.
  • You can garnish with extra paprika or chopped herbs if desired.
