Description

These Hot Honey Chicken Sliders feature crispy chicken tenders tossed in a sweet and spicy hot honey sauce, layered with creamy coleslaw and pickles on buttery toasted brioche slider buns. Perfect for a quick and delicious appetizer or casual meal, they combine crunchy, tangy, and spicy flavors in every bite.

Ingredients

Slider Buns

  • 6 brioche slider buns, plus softened butter for toasting

Chicken

  • 6 frozen crispy chicken strips

Coleslaw

  • 3 cups packaged coleslaw mix
  • 1/2 cup prepared coleslaw dressing

Hot Honey Sauce

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons hot honey
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt, or to taste

For Serving

  • Mayonnaise
  • Pickles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook Chicken: Air fry or bake the frozen chicken tenders according to the package directions. Adjust cooking time if necessary to ensure they are fully cooked and crispy. Cut the cooked chicken strips down if needed to fit nicely inside the slider buns.
  2. Make Sauce: In a microwave-safe bowl or small saucepan, combine the unsalted butter, hot honey, hot sauce, and salt. Heat gently until the butter is melted, then whisk the mixture until smooth and fully combined.
  3. Make Slaw: In a large bowl, toss the coleslaw mix with the prepared coleslaw dressing using tongs. Adjust the consistency by adding more dressing for creaminess or more coleslaw mix for a lighter texture. Let the slaw sit while preparing the other ingredients, tossing once more before assembling the sliders.
  4. Toast Buns: Lightly spread softened butter on the slider buns. Toast them in a dry skillet over medium heat until golden brown and slightly crispy. Remove from heat and set aside.
  5. Assemble: Toss the cooked chicken tenders in the hot honey sauce, shaking off any excess sauce. Place a generous scoop of coleslaw on the bottom half of each toasted bun, add the sauced chicken strips on top, and include pickles if desired. Spread mayonnaise on the top bun and close the sandwich.
  6. Serve: Serve the hot honey chicken sliders immediately while warm and crispy for the best flavor and texture experience.

Notes

  • Note 1: Use your favorite brand of frozen crispy chicken strips; adjust cooking methods according to the package instructions.
  • Note 2: Pre-packaged coleslaw mix is best for convenience, but you can substitute with shredded cabbage and carrots.
  • Note 3: Adjust the amount of hot sauce used in the honey sauce to your preferred spice level.
