Ingredients
Slider Patties
- 1 lb ground pork
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons BBQ seasoning blend (divided)
- 15 Ritz crackers, crushed
- 1/3 cup Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce
Slider Assembly
- 1 package King's Hawaiian Rolls (12 rolls)
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- Chopped onions, for topping
- Sliced pickles, for topping
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for baking the sliders.
- Prepare the Mix: Remove the Hawaiian rolls from their cardboard tray and set the tray aside. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, eggs, and 1 tablespoon of the BBQ seasoning blend. Mix thoroughly to combine.
- Add Crackers: Incorporate the crushed Ritz crackers into the pork mixture and continue mixing until fully combined. This adds texture and helps bind the patties.
- Shape the Patties: Transfer the pork mixture evenly into the emptied Hawaiian rolls tray. Press the mixture out flat and smooth, then use a knife to slice it into 12 equal squares. Use a spatula to create two parallel lines on each square to mimic rib markings.
- Prepare for Baking: Carefully transfer the pork patties onto a metal rack set over a baking sheet. This allows grease to drip away during cooking.
- Season Patties: Sprinkle the remaining 1 tablespoon of BBQ seasoning over the tops of the patties to enhance flavor.
- Bake Patties: Place the baking sheet with patties in the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for safe pork consumption.
- Prepare Rolls: While patties are baking, slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally and place them cut-side-up on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush the tops with melted butter.
- Glaze and Toast: When patties are done, remove them and brush each with Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce. Return the patties to the oven along with the rolls for 4-5 minutes to toast the buns and caramelize the sauce on the patties.
- Assemble Sliders: Place each sauced pork patty onto the bottom half of a Hawaiian roll. Top with chopped onions and sliced pickles, then cover with the top half of the roll.
- Serve: Serve these mouthwatering Homemade McRib Sliders immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- Using a metal rack for baking ensures the patties cook evenly and reduces sogginess by allowing grease to drip away.
- Feel free to adjust the amount of BBQ seasoning according to your taste preference.
- For an extra smoky flavor, consider adding a splash of liquid smoke to the pork mixture.
- Ensure pork is cooked to an internal temperature of 160°F to guarantee safety.
- These sliders are best served fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
