Description

A festive twist on the classic Negroni, the Holiday Negroni combines amber rum, Campari, and sweet vermouth, topped with sparkling white wine for a bright, bubbly finish, garnished with an orange twist and fresh cranberries for a seasonal touch.

Ingredients

Spirits

  • ¾ to 1 ounce amber/gold rum
  • ½ ounce Campari
  • ½ ounce sweet vermouth

Toppings and Garnish

  • 3 oz sparkling white wine (preferably dry Prosecco)
  • Orange twist and/or fresh cranberries (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Mix base ingredients: Add rum, Campari, and sweet vermouth to a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir gently until the mixture is well combined and chilled.
  2. Strain into glass: Strain the mixture into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice cubes to keep the drink cool and diluted to taste.
  3. Add sparkling wine: Top off the drink with 3 ounces of sparkling white wine, preferably a dry Prosecco, to add effervescence and brightness.
  4. Garnish: Finish by garnishing the cocktail with an orange twist and fresh cranberries to enhance aroma, flavor, and festive presentation.

Notes

  • If you prefer a less strong cocktail, use the lower end of the rum measurement (¾ ounce).
  • Stirring the base ingredients with ice chills and dilutes the mixture for balance.
  • Use a dry sparkling wine to avoid excessive sweetness and maintain the classic Negroni balance.
  • The orange twist adds aromatic oils that complement the bitters and sweetness.
  • Fresh cranberries provide a festive garnish and subtle tartness.
