Description

A quick and flavorful Hibachi Fried Rice recipe combining garlic, eggs, soy sauce, and peas for a delicious side or main dish ready in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 3 cups cooked rice
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 cup peas (frozen)

Instructions

  1. Heat Butter and Garlic: In a wok or large skillet over high heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and add the minced garlic. Sauté the garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant but not browned.
  2. Add Rice: Add the cooked rice to the skillet and stir to combine with the garlic and butter. Cook for about 1 minute, allowing the rice to heat through and start to slightly crisp.
  3. Season Rice: Pour in 2 tablespoons soy sauce and 1 tablespoon oyster sauce. Continue sautéing, stirring well to evenly coat all the rice and develop flavor, until the rice is hot and flavorful.
  4. Cook Eggs: Create a well in the center of the rice and pour in the beaten eggs. Scramble the eggs gently within the well until they are mostly cooked but still slightly soft.
  5. Combine and Add Peas: Stir the scrambled eggs into the rice thoroughly, then add 1 cup of frozen peas. Continue stirring and cooking until the peas are heated through, about 1-2 minutes.

Notes

  • Use day-old rice for best texture and to prevent mushy fried rice.
  • Adjust soy sauce and oyster sauce amounts to taste depending on salt preference.
  • You can add protein like chicken, shrimp, or tofu to make it a complete meal.
  • Keep the heat high to achieve a slightly crispy texture on the rice.
