Description

These Grinch Oreo Balls are a festive and fun holiday treat made from crushed Oreos mixed with cream cheese, dipped in vibrant green tea chocolate, and topped with red heart sprinkles. Perfect for holiday parties or gifting, these no-bake truffles combine creamy, crunchy, and chocolaty flavors with a festive appearance inspired by the Grinch.

Ingredients

Base

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 8 oz Oreo cookies

Coating and Decoration

  • 1/2 lb green tea chocolate
  • Red heart sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare baking sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside to place the truffles on after shaping and coating.
  2. Crush Oreo cookies: Add the Oreo cookies to a food processor and pulse until they become fine crumbs. Transfer these crumbs into a mixing bowl for the next step.
  3. Combine with cream cheese: Add the softened cream cheese to the Oreo crumbs and mix thoroughly until fully combined into a uniform dough-like mixture.
  4. Form balls: Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to portion the mixture and roll it into 1-inch balls. Arrange the formed balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly.
  5. Freeze truffles: Place the baking sheet with Oreo balls in the freezer and chill for 20 to 30 minutes, allowing them to firm up for easier dipping.
  6. Melt chocolate: Break the green tea chocolate into pieces and place them in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at 50% power for 30 seconds, stir, then continue microwaving in 15-second increments at 50% power, stirring each time, until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted.
  7. Dip truffles: Using a fork, dip each frozen Oreo ball into the melted green tea chocolate, making sure it’s fully coated. Tap the fork gently on the bowl’s edge to remove any excess chocolate.
  8. Set and decorate: Place the coated truffles back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet. Immediately top each with a red heart sprinkle to add a festive touch.
  9. Allow to set: Let the chocolate coating harden at room temperature or place in the refrigerator to speed up the setting process. Once set, the Grinch Oreo Balls are ready to serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Softened cream cheese ensures smooth mixing with the Oreo crumbs.
  • Freezing the balls before dipping helps the chocolate coat evenly without melting the mixture.
  • If green tea chocolate is unavailable, white chocolate with green food coloring can be used as an alternative.
  • Store the finished Oreo balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  • Be careful not to overheat chocolate in the microwave to avoid burning or seizing.
