Ingredients
Protein
- 1 pound flank steak (cut into strips, or any cut beef steak or boneless, skinless chicken breast, sliced)
Vegetables
- 1 medium onion (sliced)
- 2 large bell peppers (green, yellow, orange or red, thinly sliced)
Sauce and Seasoning
- ¼ cup oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
Oil
- 4 tablespoons olive oil or another vegetable oil
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Gather and measure all of your ingredients to ensure a smooth cooking process.
- Mix Sauce: In a small cup or bowl, combine ¼ cup oyster sauce, 1/3 cup water, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, ¼ teaspoon salt, and ¼ teaspoon pepper. Stir until well incorporated and set aside.
- Cook Meat: Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering or when a flick of water causes it to dance. Add the sliced beef or chicken and sauté until browned and cooked through (about 4-5 minutes). Remove the meat from the skillet and set aside.
- Sauté Onions: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of oil and heat over medium-high until shimmering. Add the sliced onions and stir fry for a few minutes until they start to soften and become tender.
- Add Bell Peppers: Add the thinly sliced bell peppers to the skillet with the onions. Continue to stir fry for a few more minutes until the peppers are tender but still slightly crisp.
- Combine and Thicken: Return the cooked beef or chicken to the skillet. Pour in the prepared oyster sauce mixture and stir well to coat all the ingredients. Cook for a few minutes until the sauce thickens and evenly coats the meat and vegetables.
- Serve: Serve the stir fry hot with steamed rice or noodles of your choice. Enjoy your flavorful and colorful meal!

- Ensure the skillet is hot before adding meat and vegetables for a better sear and texture.
