Description

This refreshing Fair Lemonade recipe is a quick and simple homemade lemonade made by muddling fresh lemons with sugar, then mixing with water and ice for a perfectly balanced, tangy, and sweet drink. Ready in just 5 minutes, it's an ideal thirst-quencher on a warm day.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 small lemons
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • Ice, as needed

Instructions

  1. Wash: Wash the lemons thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or residues from the skin.
  2. Quarter: Cut both lemons into quarters and place them in a container suitable for muddling and shaking.
  3. Muddle: Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to press and crush the lemon quarters to extract as much juice and flavor as possible.
  4. Shake with sugar: Add the 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar to the container with the muddled lemons and give it a gentle shake. The acidity of the lemon will help dissolve the sugar.
  5. Fill with ice and water: Fill the container about ¾ full with ice cubes, then pour in 1 ½ cups of water.
  6. Shake well: Secure the lid tightly and shake the mixture vigorously to combine all the ingredients thoroughly and chill the lemonade.
  7. Punch hole and serve: Make a 5/16” hole in the lid using a hole punch or your preferred tool, insert a straw, and enjoy your freshly made fair lemonade.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of sugar to taste depending on your sweetness preference.
  • Use cold or chilled water to keep the lemonade refreshing.
  • For a zestier flavor, you can include some lemon peel while muddling, but be cautious to avoid bitterness.
  • This recipe is for one serving but can be easily scaled up by multiplying ingredients.
  • Use fresh lemons for the best natural flavor.
