Description

A refreshing and decadent treat featuring juicy watermelon slices dipped in rich dark chocolate, then topped with flaky sea salt, pistachios, and shredded coconut for a perfect balance of sweet, salty, and crunchy flavors. Ideal for a light dessert or summer snack.

Ingredients

Watermelon

  • 1 small watermelon

Chocolate Coating & Toppings

  • 3 ounces high-quality dark chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped pistachios
  • 1 teaspoon finely shredded coconut flakes

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate: Gently melt the dark chocolate using a microwave in short bursts or a stovetop double boiler until smooth and glossy.
  2. Prepare watermelon slices: Cut the watermelon into circular plates, then quarter the plates to create at least 12 pieces. Cut a small sliver in the middle of the base of each piece and insert a popsicle stick for easy handling.
  3. Dip and decorate: Drizzle the warm melted chocolate over each watermelon slice, then immediately sprinkle with flaky sea salt, chopped pistachios, or shredded coconut flakes to add texture and flavor.
  4. Set the chocolate: Arrange the chocolate-dipped watermelon slices on parchment paper and let the chocolate harden for 30 minutes to 1 hour at room temperature before serving.

Notes

  • Use high-quality dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa for best taste and melting quality.
  • Ensure watermelon slices are dry to help chocolate adhere better.
  • For faster setting, place the prepared slices in the refrigerator but only for about 15-20 minutes to avoid excess moisture.
  • Customize toppings with nuts, seeds, or edible flowers as desired.
  • This recipe is best served fresh on the same day for optimal texture and flavor.
