Description

Crispy and golden Air Fryer Hash Browns made with shredded Russet potatoes, lightly seasoned with sea salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. This quick and easy recipe delivers perfectly cooked hash browns with minimal oil using the air fryer, perfect for a delicious breakfast or side dish in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Hash Browns

  • 1 pound Russet potatoes, peeled and shredded
  • Olive oil spray
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the potatoes: Peel and shred the Russet potatoes using a cheese grater. Place the shredded potatoes in paper towels and squeeze out all the excess moisture to ensure crispiness during cooking.
  2. Preheat and prepare air fryer: Spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray to prevent sticking. Spread the shredded potatoes evenly in one layer inside the basket.
  3. Season the potatoes: Lightly spray the shredded potatoes with olive oil spray. Sprinkle sea salt, garlic powder, and black pepper evenly over the potatoes.
  4. First air fry: Cook the potatoes in the air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 6 minutes, allowing them to start crisping and browning.
  5. Flip and continue cooking: Carefully flip the potatoes to promote even cooking. If needed, cut the hash browns into smaller pieces to make flipping easier. Air fry for an additional 6 minutes at the same temperature until golden and crispy.
  6. Serve: Remove the crispy hash browns from the air fryer and serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Make sure to squeeze out as much water as possible from shredded potatoes to achieve crispy texture.
  • If your air fryer basket is small, cooking in batches may be necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  • Adjust seasoning to taste or add herbs like fresh parsley for extra flavor.
  • For extra crispiness, you can increase air frying time by a couple of minutes based on your air fryer model.
