Ingredients
Crust
- 2 packages (8 oz each) Crescent rolls
- Olive oil (for crust, as needed)
- 2 tablespoons Olive oil (for brushing)
Beef Filling
- 1 pound Ground beef (80/20 blend works best)
- 1 packet (1 oz) Taco seasoning mix
- 2/3 cup Water
Sauce
- 1 can (16 oz) Refried beans
- 1 cup Sour cream
- 1 cup Mayonnaise
- 1 packet (1 oz) Ranch dressing mix
Toppings
- 2 cups Shredded Mexican cheese blend
- 2 medium Tomatoes, diced
- 1 cup Shredded lettuce
- 0.25 cup Sliced green onions
- 0.25 cup Sliced black olives (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Crust: Preheat the oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a large rimmed baking sheet. Unroll the crescent rolls and press them into the baking sheet, sealing the seams to form a solid crust. Brush the surface lightly with olive oil.
- Bake the Crust: Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 11 to 13 minutes or until it turns golden brown on top. Remove from the oven and allow it to cool completely before adding toppings.
- Cook the Ground Beef: While the crust is cooling, cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat. Add the taco seasoning mix along with 2/3 cup of water, and simmer the mixture until the sauce thickens. Let it cool for 5 minutes.
- Prepare the Sauce Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, and ranch dressing mix. Mix well until smooth and evenly blended.
- Assemble the Pizza: Spread the refried beans evenly over the cooled crust base. Layer the cooked ground beef evenly on top of the beans. Spread the ranch sauce mixture over the beef layer.
- Add Toppings: Sprinkle the shredded Mexican cheese blend over the sauce layer. Add diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, sliced green onions, and optional sliced black olives as desired.
- Serve: Cut the assembled taco pizza into squares and serve immediately. Enjoy this flavorful, easy-to-share meal!
Notes
- Ensure the crescent roll crust is completely cooled before adding toppings to prevent sogginess.
- You can customize toppings by adding jalapeños, avocado slices, or your favorite taco veggies.
- For a spicier kick, add some hot sauce into the sour cream mixture or as a drizzle on top.
- Use lean ground beef to reduce fat content if preferred.
- This recipe can be doubled or halved depending on the number of servings needed.
