Ingredients
Protein
- 2 chicken breasts (halved)
Seasonings
- ½ teaspoon coarse kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- ¼ teaspoon dried rosemary
Other Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil
- 3 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup cream of chicken soup
- ½ cup chicken stock
- 1 teaspoon low-sodium chicken Better Than Bouillon
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese (grated or shredded)
- 2 tablespoons parsley (chopped)
Instructions
- Heat oil: To a skillet, add the avocado oil over medium heat. Allow it to get hot for 2-3 minutes to ensure perfect searing of the chicken.
- Season chicken: Season both sides of the chicken breasts with coarse kosher salt and black pepper evenly.
- Sauté chicken: Place the chicken in the hot skillet and sauté for 4 minutes. Flip the chicken and cook an additional 3-4 minutes or until the juices run clear and the internal temperature reaches 165° F.
- Set chicken aside: Remove the cooked chicken and set aside, covering it with a lid to keep warm while you prepare the sauce.
- Reduce heat: Turn the skillet heat down to low to medium to prepare for the sauce.
- Sauté garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet and stir for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Add liquids and seasonings: Pour in the heavy cream, cream of chicken soup, chicken stock, and low-sodium chicken Better Than Bouillon. Add onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, dried thyme, and dried rosemary. Stir continuously until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Add Parmesan cheese: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy with no lumps.
- Return chicken: Place the chicken breasts back into the skillet, coating them in the creamy sauce.
- Simmer chicken: Let the chicken simmer in the sauce on low heat to heat through completely.
- Serve with sauce: Spoon the creamy garlic Parmesan sauce over the chicken breasts.
- Garnish: Sprinkle chopped parsley on top for a fresh, vibrant finish.
Notes
- Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F to guarantee it is fully cooked.
- For a thicker sauce, continue to simmer until desired consistency is reached.
- You can substitute cream of chicken soup with cream of mushroom soup for a slight variation in flavor.
- Serve this dish with your favorite sides like steamed vegetables, mashed potatoes, or pasta for a complete meal.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
