Description

Delight in these fun and festive Chocolate Easter Nests, perfectly crunchy shredded wheat clusters coated in creamy milk chocolate and topped with colorful mini chocolate eggs. Ideal for Easter celebrations, these no-bake treats come together quickly and are sure to be a hit with both kids and adults.

Ingredients

Base

  • 120 grams Shredded Wheat

Chocolate Coating

  • 300 grams Milk Chocolate
  • Pinch of salt

Topping

  • 200 grams Mini chocolate eggs (a mix of Mini Eggs, Galaxy Eggs, Smartie Eggs, and Milkybar Eggs)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cases: Line a cupcake tray with 12 cupcake cases to hold your nests and make cleanup easier.
  2. Crush the Shredded Wheat: Use your hands to crush the shredded wheat into small clusters and place them in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Melt the Chocolate: Break the milk chocolate into pieces, place in a microwave-safe bowl, and microwave for 60-90 seconds. Stir thoroughly until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
  4. Combine Ingredients: Pour the melted chocolate over the shredded wheat, add a pinch of salt, and mix thoroughly ensuring the shredded wheat is fully coated with chocolate.
  5. Form the Nests: Spoon the chocolate-coated shredded wheat into the cupcake cases. Use a teaspoon to press and shape each portion into a nest shape with a hollow center.
  6. Add the Mini Eggs: Fill the center of each nest with mini chocolate eggs for a colorful and festive finish.
  7. Chill and Set: Place the tray in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to allow the nests to fully set and harden before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the chocolate is smooth and fully melted to evenly coat the shredded wheat for the best texture.
  • You can substitute the mini chocolate eggs with any small candy or nuts as per preference.
  • Keep the nests refrigerated until serving to maintain their shape and prevent melting.
  • This recipe is easy to customize with different types of chocolate such as dark or white chocolate.
  • Perfect as a quick no-bake dessert or party favor during Easter or springtime celebrations.
