Ingredients
Cookies
- 12-16 Oreo cookies
Toppings
- 9 ounces bag mini milk chocolate eggs
- ¼ cup chocolate sprinkles
Chocolate Coating
- 10 ounces bag dark chocolate melting wafers
Instructions
- Prepare baking sheet. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside to prepare for placing the coated Oreo nests.
- Melt the chocolate. Place the dark chocolate melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring thoroughly after each interval until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted to ensure even coating.
- Coat the Oreos. Drop an Oreo cookie into the melted chocolate, flipping it with a fork to evenly coat all sides. Lift the cookie out carefully, allowing any excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl. Gently tap the fork on the edge of the bowl to remove extra chocolate.
- Decorate the nests. Transfer the chocolate-coated Oreo to the prepared baking sheet. While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle the cookie with chocolate sprinkles and press two to three mini milk chocolate eggs onto the top to resemble an Easter nest. Repeat for all Oreos.
- Set the chocolate. Place the baking sheet in the freezer for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate coating is completely hardened, ensuring the nests maintain their shape and texture.
Notes
- Use high-quality dark chocolate melting wafers for a smooth and glossy finish.
- If you don't have a microwave, you can melt chocolate using a double boiler on low heat.
- Mini milk chocolate eggs can be substituted with other small candy pieces or jelly beans for variety.
- Store the finished nests in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep the chocolate firm and fresh up to one week.
- These treats are not gluten-free due to the Oreos.
