Description

A classic Chicken Parmesan recipe featuring crispy, breaded chicken breasts baked to tender perfection with a flavorful parmesan and breadcrumb coating, seasoned with aromatic spices.

Ingredients

Bread Crumb Mixture

  • ½ cup fine cracker crumbs or bread crumbs
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese (grated)
  • ¾ tsp paprika
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp celery salt
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp dried oregano

Chicken

  • 3 lbs chicken breast (boneless)
  • ¼ cup margarine or butter (melted)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the breadcrumb mixture: In a shallow bowl or a pie plate, combine the bread crumbs or cracker crumbs, grated parmesan cheese, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, celery salt, onion powder, and dried oregano. Mix thoroughly to ensure even seasoning for coating the chicken.
  2. Coat the chicken: Brush each boneless chicken breast with the melted margarine or butter, ensuring an even coating on all sides. Next, dredge each piece of chicken in the prepared breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly so the coating adheres evenly.
  3. Bake the chicken: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the coated chicken breasts in a single layer on a greased baking sheet with sides. Cover the baking sheet to retain moisture and bake in the oven for about 60-75 minutes, or until the chicken is tender and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).

Notes

  • Make sure to cover the baking sheet to keep the chicken moist during baking.
  • You can use either butter or margarine according to your preference.
  • Using a meat thermometer helps ensure the chicken is cooked safely and perfectly.
  • For extra crispiness, you can uncover the chicken during the last 10 minutes of baking.
