Ingredients
Sandwich Ingredients
- 6 hoagie rolls
- 2 tablespoons avocado oil (or any oil of your choice)
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 teaspoons McCormick's Montreal Steak Spice
- 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 1/4 cup cream of mushroom soup (homemade or 10.5 oz. can store-bought)
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 to 2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
Instructions
- Preheat and Sauté Ground Beef and Onion: Heat 2 tablespoons of avocado oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 lb ground beef and 1 finely chopped small onion. Sauté for 7-10 minutes until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent. Sprinkle in 2 teaspoons Montreal Steak Spice for seasoning and stir well.
- Add Bell Pepper and Garlic: Add the finely chopped green bell pepper and minced garlic clove to the skillet. Cook for an additional 3 minutes to soften the vegetables and develop flavor.
- Incorporate Cream of Mushroom Soup and Worcestershire Sauce: Pour in 1 1/4 cups cream of mushroom soup and add 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Stir everything together and let it cook for 5 minutes to blend the flavors and warm the sauce.
- Mix in Cheddar Cheese and Assemble: Turn off the heat and stir in 1 1/2 cups of grated cheddar cheese until melted and creamy. Spoon the cheesy beef mixture generously into the hoagie rolls. Serve the sandwiches warm, optionally alongside extra cream of mushroom soup for dipping or extra moisture.
Notes
- You can substitute the cream of mushroom soup with a homemade version for a fresher taste.
- Adjust the amount of cheese according to your preference for cheesiness.
- Use any type of bread roll you like if hoagie rolls aren’t available.
- The Montreal Steak Spice provides a nice robust flavor; alternatively, you can use a blend of garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and black pepper.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in a skillet or microwave.
