Description

A fragrant and creamy homemade Cardamom Latte that combines rich espresso with warm, aromatic cardamom syrup and frothy milk. This simple recipe offers a delightful twist on the classic latte, perfect for a cozy morning or afternoon treat, easily made hot or iced.

Ingredients

Espresso

  • 2 shots freshly brewed espresso (or instant espresso)

Syrup

  • 1-2 tbsp cardamom syrup

Milk

  • 1 ¼ cup milk (of your choice)

Instructions

  1. Prepare espresso shots: Brew two shots of espresso using your preferred method or use instant espresso. Pour the espresso directly into your mug.
  2. Mix cardamom syrup: Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of cardamom syrup to the espresso and stir well until combined. Adjust the syrup amount based on your desired sweetness.
  3. Heat milk: In a separate heatproof container, microwave the milk for approximately 1 minute and 45 seconds or until hot but not boiling.
  4. Froth milk: Use a milk frother to froth the heated milk for about 30 seconds until it develops a creamy foam.
  5. Combine and serve: Pour the frothed milk over the espresso in your mug, spooning foam on top as desired. Enjoy your cardamom latte immediately while warm.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of cardamom syrup to suit your taste preferences.
  • You can substitute regular milk with any plant-based milk such as almond, oat, or soy.
  • For an iced version, pour espresso and syrup over ice and top with cold frothed milk instead of heating it.
  • If you don't have a milk frother, you can shake hot milk vigorously in a sealed jar to create foam.
  • Use freshly brewed espresso for the best flavor, but instant espresso works well in a pinch.
