Description

These Buffalo Chicken Sliders are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or meal perfect for game day or casual gatherings. Tender shredded chicken mixed with ranch dressing and hot sauce is piled onto soft dinner rolls, topped with melted Mexican blend cheese, and baked to perfection with a flavorful garlic butter glaze.

Ingredients

Chicken Mixture

  • 1 recipe of shredded chicken (about 3 cups cooked, shredded chicken)
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1/3 cup hot sauce
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper

Toppings & Assembly

  • 2 cups shredded cheese, Mexican blend
  • 12 dinner rolls (split in half)

Garlic Butter Mixture

  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Prepare Shredded Chicken: Make a recipe of shredded chicken by cooking and shredding approximately 3 cups of chicken breasts or thighs; this can be done by boiling, baking, or using leftover chicken.
  3. Mix Chicken with Sauces: In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken with ranch dressing, hot sauce, salt, and ground black pepper. Mix thoroughly so the chicken is evenly coated with the flavorful sauce.
  4. Prepare the Rolls: Cut the dinner rolls in half horizontally. Remove the top halves and place the bottom halves in a single layer in a 9x13-inch casserole dish or baking sheet.
  5. Assemble Sliders: Spread the buffalo chicken mixture evenly over the bottom halves of the rolls. Sprinkle the shredded Mexican blend cheese over the chicken layer, then place the top halves of the rolls back onto each slider.
  6. Prepare Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix the melted unsalted butter with Italian seasoning and garlic powder. Using a pastry brush, brush this garlic butter mixture generously over the tops of the slider buns.
  7. Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. This allows the cheese to melt and the flavors to meld.
  8. Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the tops of the buns are slightly golden and toasted.
  9. Serve: Remove from oven, serve the sliders warm, and enjoy your flavorful Buffalo Chicken Sliders!

Notes

  • You can use rotisserie chicken or cooked leftover chicken to save time.
  • Adjust the amount of hot sauce to control the spice level.
  • For extra flavor, add diced celery or blue cheese crumbles to the chicken mixture.
  • These sliders can be assembled ahead of time and refrigerated before baking.
  • Use gluten-free rolls if you require a gluten-free version.
