Description

A refreshing and elegant Balsamic Peach Spritz cocktail that combines sweet peach jam, tangy white balsamic vinegar, and bubbly prosecco, with an optional splash of vodka for an extra kick. Garnished with fresh basil, sliced peaches, and a hint of basil-infused olive oil, this drink is perfect for warm weather and sophisticated gatherings.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 (rounded) tablespoon peach jam or preserves
  • 1 tablespoon white balsamic vinegar
  • 1 ounce vodka (optional)
  • 3-4 ounces prosecco, chilled

For Serving

  • Basil extra virgin olive oil (optional)
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
  • Sliced peaches, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix Ingredients: In a cocktail shaker or a glass jar, combine the peach jam, white balsamic vinegar, and vodka if using. Shake well to thoroughly blend the flavors.
  2. Chill the Mixture: Add ice to the shaker or jar and shake vigorously until the mixture is well chilled.
  3. Strain and Serve: Strain the chilled mixture into a cocktail glass.
  4. Top with Prosecco: Pour 3 to 4 ounces of chilled prosecco on top to fill the glass.
  5. Garnish: Add a small drizzle of basil-infused extra virgin olive oil, fresh basil leaves, and sliced peaches on the rim or inside the drink for garnish and aroma.
  6. Enjoy: Serve immediately and enjoy this refreshing spritz.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the vodka and use sparkling water instead of prosecco.
  • Use fresh, ripe peaches for the best flavor when garnishing.
  • If basil olive oil is unavailable, a small fresh basil leaf garnish alone works well.
  • Adjust sweetness by varying the amount of peach jam according to preference.
