Description

Jalapeno Poppers are a flavorful and spicy appetizer featuring halved jalapenos filled with a creamy, cheesy bacon mixture, then baked to perfection until golden and bubbly. Perfect as a party snack or game-day treat.

Ingredients

Jalapeno Poppers Ingredients

  • 12 jalapenos
  • 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper
  • 3 Tbsp green onion, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded mild cheddar cheese
  • 6 oz bacon, cooked and chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare Jalapenos: Preheat the oven to 400°F. Halve the jalapenos lengthwise and carefully remove the seeds and membranes using a spoon to reduce heat intensity. Discard the seeds and membranes.
  2. Make Filling: In a large bowl, combine room temperature cream cheese, minced garlic, salt, ground black pepper, chopped green onion, shredded mild cheddar cheese, and cooked chopped bacon. Use a fork to mash and mix all ingredients thoroughly until well incorporated.
  3. Stuff Jalapenos: Fill each jalapeno half with the prepared cheese and bacon mixture. Be sure to fill them evenly and avoid overstuffing to ensure even cooking.
  4. Bake: Arrange the stuffed jalapenos on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven at 400°F for 18-20 minutes, or until the cheese filling is melted and golden brown on top. Remove from oven and let them cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • To reduce spiciness, ensure you remove all seeds and membranes from the jalapenos.
  • You can substitute cheddar cheese with pepper jack for a spicier twist.
  • Bacon can be omitted or replaced with vegetarian bacon alternatives for a vegetarian version.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature for best flavor.
  • For easier cleanup, line the baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
