Description

These Air Fryer Pizza Roses are a fun and delicious twist on traditional pizza, featuring crescent roll dough filled with mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, and pizza sauce, then cooked to perfection in the air fryer. Perfect as a party appetizer or a kid-friendly snack, they come together quickly and offer a crispy, cheesy bite in every rose-shaped roll.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 2 tubes (16 ounces each) crescent dough

Fillings

  • 3/4 cup pizza sauce
  • 8 slices mozzarella cheese, cut into thirds
  • 2 cups pepperoni slices

Topping

  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: Start by opening your crescent roll dough package and unrolling the dough onto a lightly floured surface to prevent sticking. Place two crescent roll triangles side by side and pinch their seams together to create one large rectangle. Using a pizza cutter, cut the rectangle in half lengthwise to form long strips. Repeat until all dough is cut into strips.
  2. Add the Toppings: Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce evenly over each dough strip, being careful not to oversaturate. Next, place two pieces of mozzarella cheese (from slices cut into thirds) over the sauce on each strip. Then arrange pepperoni slices on top, ensuring that half of each pepperoni slice hangs over the edge of the dough strip for rolling.
  3. Roll the Dough: Begin rolling each dough strip by folding the bottom edge up to meet the top half, then carefully rolling the strip from left to right to form a rose shape. Place each rolled pizza rose upright into a cupcake pan or silicone mold that fits inside your air fryer basket.
  4. Air Fry the Pizza Roses: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3 minutes. Place the pan with the pizza roses inside the air fryer basket and cook for 8 minutes until golden and cooked through. Once done, carefully remove the pizza roses and sprinkle grated parmesan cheese over them before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the air fryer cupcake pan or silicone mold fits inside your air fryer before assembling the roses.
  • Do not overfill with sauce to avoid soggy dough.
  • Feel free to customize toppings by adding vegetables or other meats.
  • Use a non-stick spray or parchment paper in the pan to prevent sticking if desired.
  • Allow the pizza roses to cool slightly before handling, as the filling will be hot.
