Ingredients
Chicken
- 2 Pieces Chicken Breast, cut into thin strips lengthwise
Coating
- 1 Cup Breadcrumbs
- 2 Pieces Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
- ½ teaspoon Garlic Powder
- ½ teaspoon Onion Powder
- ¼ teaspoon Salt
- ¼ teaspoon Black Pepper
Other
- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil (for spraying)
Instructions
- Get your Ingredients Ready. Gather all ingredients including chicken breasts, breadcrumbs, eggs, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and extra virgin olive oil. Preheat your air fryer to 430°F (220°C) to ensure it's hot and ready for cooking.
- Prepare Wet and Dry Coatings. Whisk the eggs in one bowl to create the wet coating. In another bowl, combine the breadcrumbs with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to create a well-seasoned breading mix.
- Cut Chicken Breast into Strips and Coat. Slice the chicken breasts into thin strips resembling fries. Dip each strip first into the whisked eggs, then dredge thoroughly in the seasoned breadcrumb mixture. Place coated strips onto a plate as you go.
- Oil the Air Fryer Basket and Arrange Chicken. Spray a light coating of extra virgin olive oil in the air fryer basket to prevent sticking. Arrange the chicken strips in a single layer with space between each to ensure even cooking. Lightly spray the coated chicken fries with olive oil to promote crispiness.
- Cook the Chicken Fries. Air fry the chicken strips at 430°F (220°C) for 12 minutes. At the halfway point (around 6 minutes), use tongs to carefully flip the chicken fries to ensure even browning and crispiness on both sides.
- Check and Serve. Once cooking is complete, check that the chicken fries are golden brown and cooked through. Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.
Notes
- Make sure the chicken strips are of even thickness to promote uniform cooking.
- For extra crispiness, you can double coat by dipping the strips again in egg and breadcrumbs after the first coating.
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary to allow hot air circulation.
- Adjust seasoning to taste by adding more or less smoked paprika or other spices.
- Allow chicken fries to rest for a couple of minutes after cooking to let the juices redistribute.
